Elma is a passionate advocate and experienced trial attorney. Prior to joining SmithAmundsen, Elma was an Assistant State’s Attorney at the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office where she tried more than 100 cases, including both bench and jury trials. It is this experience that has given Elma the confidence necessary to be successful both inside and outside the courtroom. Today, Elma remains an avid litigator as a member of the firm’s General Liability Service Group and represents clients in the insurance industry.
As an immigrant and refugee, Elma knows what it is like not to have the same resources and benefits as others. Elma represents clients going through some of the most trying times of their lives, and she does so with the utmost compassion, which is one of the things Elma’s clients admire and appreciate most about her. Elma’s personal experience drives her desire and dedication to help others.
