Overview
Ray has been successfully representing clients in and out of the courtroom for more than 15 years; he has tried more than 50 cases to jury verdict. Ray handles matters involving civil litigation including real estate and corporate litigation and real estate transactions. He defends insurance carriers in personal injury cases. His clients include developers, homeowners, contractors, subcontractors, homeowners associations and corporations to name a few. He regularly handles large, complex, multi-million dollar transactions on behalf of his clients.
Ray currently serves as acting General Counsel for a general contracting company and a real estate redevelopment company. He has drafted numerous redevelopment agreements for moderate to large urban real estate redevelopments and has negotiated redevelopment agreements with municipal entities. Additionally, he handles issues related to Tax Increment Financing (TIF), historical tax credits, obtaining tax deeds and assessing real estate tax values. He drafts, litigates and advises clients on commercial leases. He represents corporations with respect to regulatory issues, construction liens and compliance with OSHA regulations.
Ray is interested in farm law and agribusiness services. Ray has litigated numerous cases focusing on agricultural issues including: crop damage, confined Animal feeding operations (CAFO's), farm land use and easements, OSHA violations and investigations, vehicular accidents involving farm implements, premises liability pertaining to large farming operations and environmental issues.
