The law firm of SmithAmundsen congratulates attorney Melinda Shapiro who was elected to the Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art Board of Directors. Members of the board play an integral role in supporting the museum and its commitment to contemporary art.

The mission of the Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art (iMOCA) is to bring contemporary exhibitions and programs to the Indianapolis community to stimulate minds, inspire new discoveries and demonstrate the vital connections between visual culture and life. The museum supports a variety of emerging and mid-career artists through innovative exhibitions and audience engagements.

Melinda has been a champion of the arts for several years. She currently serves as vice president of the Phoenix Theatre in Indianapolis. She was previously a docent at the Indianapolis Museum of Art and is a former board member of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra. Melinda is a seasoned attorney who represents clients in the health care industry. She earned her J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law and her B.A. from Indiana University.

About the Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art: Founded in 2001, the iMOCA is the only museum in Indianapolis dedicated solely to showing and advancing contemporary art.
