Alan joined the EAA Legal Advisory Council in 2005 and served as its chairman from 2011 to 2021. Alan spent most of his tenure answering and discussing a wide range of legal questions with members as well as advising the organization on a number of issues.

Although, Alan is stepping down as chairman, he will continue to serve on the council and volunteer his time to the aviation industry and EAA members.
