SmithAmundsen successfully defended the owner and operator of a golf course, as well as its employee, against a patron’s battery claim in Missouri state court alleging that the employee battered him on the premises of the golf course. At the pretrial conference, the court granted the defendants’ crucial motion in limine and denied the plaintiff’s request for punitive damages, leading to plaintiff’s voluntary dismissal of its battery claim.
